Sometimes, the largest cost of college aside from the tuition is the books; and it is almost always the most unforeseen cost. Even if you plan to purchase textbooks, you may not be able to anticipate how many books each professor will assign and how much the bookstore will decide to charge for them. For the average college student with little extra pocket cash, this can be a nightmare!

Although you will still probably have to pay for your textbooks, there is a way to do it so that the cost is lowered. If you follow certain steps – like finding out ahead of time what books are required for your class, buying online or from other students rather than from the school bookstore, and considering other tips for saving money on college books, the large sum will hopefully reduced to something a little more affordable. And – if you don’t wish to keep the books at the end of the semester and don’t need them for any future classes – you can always sell them and make a little extra money to put towards your next set of texts.
