Where do you keep your extra coins? On the nightstand? Beneath the couch cushions? On your desk? One of the best ways to store coins is to use a coin bank, but within the category of coin banks you will have many options from which to choose.
The basic and classic coin bank is the so-called piggy bank. Piggy banks and other similar banks, are simply containers for storing coins. They can be a great opportunity to teach children about saving money, and they will greatly cut down on the number of coins you misplace.
On the other hand, you can also purchase a coin bank that does far more than simply store coins. Some coin banks sort, count, and wrap your coins for you. Obviously, these coin banks will be much more expensive than piggy banks but the added convenience is nice, particularly for businesses.
For the most part, only experienced coin collectors will use a coin bank because you need a high number of coins to make it worthwhile. In addition, coin banks are primarily designed for storing, and perhaps sorting coins but not for displaying coins, which is what coin collectors want to do.
