If you are looking into buying an espresso machine you will find that there are two types available. They include:

·        Pump Machines: Pump espresso machines heat water to the exact temperature and then force it through the coffee grounds by an internal pump. The force by which the water is moved through the pump is extremely powerful which makes the end result a high quality drink. The water tank on a pump machine is usually able to be refilled at any time in the process to make as much espresso as is needed. Only pump espresso machines can produce Crema, the creamy foam that has the entire flavor of the coffee bean.
·        Steam Machines: Traditionally steam machines were only able to boil water before the brewing process which took away from the taste of the drink. Now the water is heated just below boiling and then the brewing process is started. Steam machines are able to make great tasting espresso. They are less expensive than Pump machines but they typically do not have water tanks.
