In our super-technological era we now have traveling coffee mugs that plug into our car cigarette lighters to keep the liquid warm. The coffee mug is not longer the clay, or porcelain or glass cup it used to be. With the proliferation of Starbucks and Seattle’s Best Coffee, the coffeehouse, the need for people to take their coffee with them everywhere, there is a new breed of coffee mugs.
A brand called Highwave takes credit for creating the first travel mug with the ‘drink through the top’ feature. Since its inception the travel mug has morphed into more than it set out to be. Now you can purchase a stainless steel travel coffee mug in any shape you desire. If that weren’t enough, you can also get a stainless steel coffee mug that has a French press attached to it. So if you are traveling or camping you can get your custom pressed cup of coffee.
Highwave mugs also come with a sticky bottom, or rubber bottom that allows the driver to place the mug on the dashboard and not have to worry about the mug sliding or spilling. Of course whether the mug stays put depends upon the driver’s skill, or lack thereof.
