There are three types of filters used in coffee makers. They include:
· Paper Filters: Paper filters are used by the coffee grounds being placed into the filter. Paper filters tend to lighten the taste of coffee but are a favorite of many coffee drinkers.
· Permanent Filters: If your coffee maker does not come with this type of filter it is possible to purchase one separately. With no paper filter to throw away permanent filters are environmentally friendly.
· Water Filters: More expensive coffee makers come with water filters which eliminate any chlorine or iron tastes from tap water. However, the filters can be expensive to replace and a hassle to clean.
