Coffee makers come with a wide variety of features that make the coffee making experience as hassle free as possible. Like most things you purchase, the more features you desire your coffee maker to have, the higher the price. That’s not to say however that you cannot find a reasonably priced model with great features. Here are a few of the most popular features coffee makers come equip with:

 

·        Automatic Shut Off: This feature is also referred to as Pause n’ Serve in some models. Automatic shut off allows you to pause the coffee making in order to pour a cup of coffee. Once the coffee pot is replaced onto the heating plate the brewing is restarted. This feature is nice for those who need that first cup of coffee before the entire pot is brewed. Many coffee makers on the market have this feature.

·        Pod Compatible: One of the newest trends in coffee makers is pods. Pods consist of pre-measured coffee grounds that are enclosed in a paper filter. Pods are placed into a coffee maker and coffee is made. Pods can be used with individual size coffee makers but larger sizes are now being made to accommodate pods as well as coffee grounds. One advantage of a pod is there are no messy grounds to clean up.

·        Digital Controls: Clocks and lighted buttons are just a few of the features newer coffee makers are being made with. Another exciting digital feature is the timer which allows you to set the time you want your first pot of coffee made. Automatic shut off is also a favorite digital control. It elevates the worry of whether you left the coffee pot on or not.

·        Carafe: This feature eliminates the standard coffee pot and replaces it with a thermal carafe. The carafe allows your coffee to stay at its original temperature for up to 6 hours.
