Brazil is the world’s leader in coffee production with over 30 million sacks a year. Colombia is second, producing 12% of the world’s coffee supply. South American cultivation is mostly made up of the arabica bean type and generally regarded as high quality crops. The Caribbean islands, Mexico, and Panama are also known to produce quality arabica beans. Asia on the other hand is an up and coming area of production. Countries such as Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and Thailand are becoming strong leaders in producing robusta beans, some of unusually high quality. Other robusta producing countries include those of Kenya, Tanzania, and Cameroon in Africa.

Coffee beans can come from many different regions and countries throughout the world, but they all must undergo careful cultivation, harvesting, roasting and blending in order to come out as the enjoyable and quality beverage of coffee. With all the time, effort, and preparation coffee beans go through it’s no wonder that the popularity of coffee continues to grow all over the world.
