With a variety of different textures added, they have the look and feel of a real rock . The average height of a rock wall is twenty-five feet tall, which in turn attracts a lot of attention. Different shapes and sizes allow limitless design possibilities, and can be customized to a persons preference. Rock walls are artificially constructed with grips for hands and feet. Some walls can be made from brick or wood panels, but mostly are made from fiberglass. There are holes drilled at different intervals and handholds are placed to mimic the condition of outdoor rocks. The face of the rock wall surface is covered with a variety of textured products. Paint, concrete, and sand are added to take the form and feel of a real rock. Rock walls are designed to accommodate climbing holds, as well as having their own natural features. Routes are designed from the handholds to make climbing easier or harder. The handholds are also interchangeable.
