A leash is attached to the tools you buy for climbing. It is recommended that you spend the extra cash and buy a leash that clamps tight, doesn’t loosen on its own, and is able to be tightened with your teeth. Typically leashes that come with your tool are poorly made and may be a hindrance rather than a part of the tool that assists in the climb.
