Shanghai has a variety of interesting sites to offer its visitors. In contrast to Beijing, where you will find imperial wonders like the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven (or the Great Wall of China for that matter), Shanghai’s sites are relatively modern. The historical places of interest primarily stem from Shanghai’s season as a trading hub when other countries set up concessions to conduct operations from. The modern sites in the Pudong region are from the city’s recent construction boom.
