• Victoria Harbor

• The Great Wall

• Victoria Peak

o Description: The view seen from Victoria Peak is unmatched throughout the world. The spectacular panoramic view of the city is especially beautiful at night when the lights are gleaming. In addition to the city view, you can also check out the greener western parts of Hong Kong Island from the viewing platforms on top of the Peak Tower and Peak Galleria. • Ocean Park
o Address: Ocean Park Rd., Aberdeen, Hong Kong, China
o Description: There is so much to see and do at Ocean Park. Take a ride on the popular Dragon Roller Coaster or a spin on the Ferris wheel. Visit the Chinese cultural village, complete with temples, pagodas, and traditional street displays. Or, you can visit the theme park’s star attractions, two adorable pandas. There is also a marine park with a Shark Aquarium. Admission is HKD185 for adults, HKD93 for children ages 3-11, and is free for seniors over 65 and children under 3.
• Oriental Pearl TV Tower
o Address: 2 Lane 504 Jujiazui Road, Pu Dong District (at Lu Jia Zui Road), Shanghai, 200120 China
o Description: This tower is one of the highest is Asia. Visitors can climb the 468 meters for a beautiful panoramic view of the city. On the ground floor, there is a café, a shopping area, an international city exhibit, and deluxe conference rooms. Admission is CNY70.
• Yu Gardens
o Address: 132 An Ren Road, Pu Xi District, Shanghai, 200000 China
o Description: These gardens were built in the Ming Dynasty and are a remarkable representation of a southern Chinese-style garden. The gardens are 400 years old and are recognized as a significant national heritage site. A shopping bazaar is located around the gardens so visitors can practice haggling as they look for souvenirs. Admission is CNY20.
• Nathan Road
o Address: Nathan Road, Hong Kong, China
o Description: Named for Governor Sir Matthew Nathan, this historic road runs directly up to Boundary Street. Although at the time of its construction, it was deemed unnecessary and was referred to as “Nathan’s Folly,” it is now one of the busiest commercial roads in Hong Kong. Along the road are numerous boutiques, camera shops, street markets, and restaurants.
• Star Ferry
o Address: Star Ferry Pier, Edinburgh Place, Hong Kong, China
o Description: There are so many sights to see from the Star Ferry. Although it’s only a ten minute trip across Victoria Harbor, you’ll be thrilled by the stretch of skyscrapers, hotels, and apartment blocks, especially if you go at night. Admission is only HKD2.20 and ferries run from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm every day.
• Temple of Heaven
o Address: Tian Tan North Road, Beijing, 100050 China
o Description: Built between 1406 and 1420, this beautiful temple was where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties went to pray. The temple is located in the south part of Beijing. There are four main areas in the temple: the Round Altar, Echo Wall, the Vault of Heaven, and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. A whisper on the Echo Wall can be heard anywhere along the length of the wall.
• Gulangyu Island
o Address: Ferry for island at the end of Zhongshan Road, Xiamen, 361002 China
o Description: This little island, located just off the coast of Xiamen, is full of cobblestone streets and colonial-style buildings with large terraced patios. There are no automobiles on the island in order to create a calm atmosphere. Some of the attractions include Sunlight Rock and Koxinga Memorial Hall. The ferry to the island is CNY1 for seating on the upper deck. Standing room is free. The ferry leaves every fifteen minutes and is open 24 hours a day.
• Tiananmen Gate
o Address: North end of Tianamen Square, Dongcheng District, Beijing, 100006 China
o Description: Built in 1417, this gate is 33.7 meters high and consists of a terrace and a tower where visitors can see a panoramic view of the city. It was opened to the public in 1988 and has been renovated four times in the past 50 years. Tiananmen is considered the center to Beijing.
• Huai Hai Road
o Address: Huai Hai Road, Shanghai, 200001 China
o Description: This road was built in 1901 to commemorate the Huai Hai Battle during Liberation. It is now a busy section of road that is home to more than 400 shops, restaurants, and businesses. It is close to Memorial Hall and Doctor Sun Yat-sen Former Residence.
• The Forbidden City
o Address: North of Tiananmen Square, Dong Cheng District, Beijing, 100009 China
o Description: This complex has 70 structures and more than 9,000 rooms. It was once the residence of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and is surrounded by a high wall and a moat. In the early 20th century, it was tuned into a museum and now houses a collection of over 900,000 fine treasures. There is a royal garden located behind the palace. Admission is CNY30 for a regular ticket and CNY50 for an all-inclusive ticket.
• People’s Square (Renmin Guang Chang)
o Address: Renmin Boulevard, Pu Xi District, Shanghai, 200000 China
o Description: This urban park contains manicured greenery and is surrounded by government buildings. In the center of the square is the beautiful Shanghai Museum. The Square also features a 320-square meter water fountain, an underground shopping mall, and a subway. Kites are available for approximately CNY15.
• Lama Temple (Yonghegong)
o Address: 12 Yonghegong Dajie, Bejixinqiau, Dongcheng District, Beijing, 100007 China
o Description: This temple was built in 1694 and was the residence of Prince Yin Zhen, son of Emperor Kang Xi of the Qing Dynasty. The temple contains five large halls and five courtyards. The courtyards are architecturally beautiful and feature archways, upturned eaves, and carved details. The temple contains an array of Buddhist art and Tibetan-style murals.
• Shanghai Art Museum
o Address: 325 Nanjing Xi Rd, Shanghai 200003 China
o Description: This five-floor museum contains twelve exhibition halls showing modern and traditional fine art. Temporary art shows are held regularly. Painting and sketching lessons are offered for prices ranging between CNY150 and CNY200. The lecture hall can be rented for functions. A gift shop is located on the first floor. Admission is CNY20 for adults and CNY16 for students and groups. Special exhibitions may cost additional admission.
