The music of Chile, for the most part folk music, has achieved international praise since the 1960s. During the 1970s folk groups, such as Inti Illimani and Quilapayún, frequently toured Europe and North America. Today, Inti Illimani remains as a famous Chilean group that has effectively united former folk traditions with their own contemporary sound. In regards to the contemporary rock genre, the band Los Tres debuted in a live MTV concert, and other bands such as Lost Tetas and Lucybell have received international notice.
