The most celebrated festival in the Norte Grande region of Chile is the Fiesta de La Tirana. The festival occurs in the tiny town of La Tirana each year from July 12-18. The festival is held in honor of the Virgin of Carmel, Chile’s patron saint, and draws 40,000 believers together to commemorate. The whole week of celebration involves continual songs and dances that last nearly 24 hours a day.

Another important festival is the International Song Festival held in Viña del Mar. The festival is held every year in February and includes entertainment from the most vivacious Lationo musicians. The International Song Festival is held in the gorgeous outdoor amphitheater, Quinta Vergara, and lasts a week.
