Home » Child Safety » Blog » Golfing for child-safetyThe recent Inaugural Samantha Foundation hosted a golf tournament at the Westview Country Club in Miami to raise money and awareness for promoting child safety in the home. More than 100 golfers attended the tournament, raising around $75,000 for the cause.
The event was founded by Katie and Mark Kessler, whose daughter was killed at home in a tragic home accident, and sponsored by Florida Power & Light.
After the tournament, more than 200 participants dined on a gourmet buffet dinner and bid in a silent auction for items such as vacations to California and a private basketball lesson from a Miami Heat coach.
Proceeds from the tournament will help implement safety-related educational programs as well as create kits that offer materials and information about creating safer homes.
