Days Inn Gold Coast: This Days Inn is near Lincoln Park, but still within walking distance of Gold Coast and North Side attractions. The nearest El station is also just about five blocks away. Prices are very reasonable at $89-119.
The Raphael Hotel: This Gold Coast gem is in a wonderful location near Water Tower Place, and is more moderately priced than many Gold Coast hotels, at $99-149. Hotels along similar lines in the Gold Coast area include the Seneca, the Claridge, and the Tremont.
Omni Ambassador East: This hotel has two major distinctions: it was the setting for part of the award-winning film North by Northwest, and it is home to the Pump Room, one of Chicago's most famously swank nightclubs. Rooms are $149-179.
The Drake: if you usually like to stay at the same hotels as Queen Elizabeth II, the Drake is the place for you. Besides being "Chicago's grandest hotel," it is at the top of the Magnificent Mile, and just a short walk from Lake Michigan’s Oak Street Beach. Rooms cost $239-259 a night.
The Four Seasons Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton: The Four Seasons is on the Magnificent Mile, and the Ritz-Carlton is just a block east of it. Lavish rooms and service are available at both hotels for between $300-something and $900-something a night. These two are also highly acclaimed for their hotel restaurants: the contemporary American Seasons Restaurant and the Ritz-Carlton’s French Dining Room.
