West Indian manatees and bottlenose dolphins are prevalent in the DR.
Perhaps the most popular attraction in the Dominican Republic is Parque Nacional Del Este, or National Park of the East. The park houses 112 know species of birds and a variety of other animals. A unique place to visit, the park has dry forests, subtropical humid forests, and transitional forests. There are also caves to explore and activities such as kayaking and other water sports to enjoy.
A new attraction in the Dominican Republic is a buggy tour that takes visitors through the DR’s beautiful scenery to a Dominican water plant that cleans drinking water.
