Over 60 purely beautiful islands make up the British Virgin Islands.
The main islands are Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke. The islands are located just east of Puerto Rico, and the total area is 93 miles. The population of the British Virgin Islands is 21,000.
The British Virgin Islands are famous for their sailing waters; they are known as the sailing capital of the Caribbean. Visitors can rent a power boat and go island hopping, or take a relaxing day sail, guided by a captain. Exciting discoveries, such as amazing snorkeling spots and remote beaches, are prevalent in the BVI. Many vacationers take a luxury charter cruise, complete with captain and crew, to enjoy this sailors’ paradise.

Diving is another extremely popular sport in the BVI. With over 100 dive sites that include exotic reefs, underwater caves and tunnels, canyons, and coral pinnacles, the British Virgin Islands offer underwater adventures for beginners and experienced divers alike. There are also many shipwrecks among the islands, some of which are perfect for beginning divers. The Rhone is a British mail ship sunk in 1867 just off of Salt Island and is known as the best diving site in the Caribbean. The Chikuzen, a 268-foot refrigerator ship, lies off Tortola’s East End and boasts such good visibility, divers can stand on the bow and see all the way to the stern.

The beaches are white, the water is turquoise, and the lifestyle is vibrant and energetic! What’s not to love about the British Virgin Islands?
