If you're an aspiring film producer, George Lucas might be a good choice to emulate. Ask yourself these questions: What makes these people so good at what they do? Why are they so successful? What do you like about them? For current trends, where is the discipline headed? What are the biggest challenges? You must be learned about where your profession is going.

Take a personal inventory. What do you need to do reach your career goal? Consider the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of what it will take for you to get there. Then ask yourself if you're ready to go that extra step and work harder than the next guy. It's a tremendous challenge to always be developing yourself, and it can take a large amount of mental tenacity. The best salespeople have learned how to overcome rejection and to treat each new opportunity with the same amount of determination. In your particular discipline, you must do the same.
