As companies nowadays push forward with IT projects and wipe the dust off older ones, the hunt for new project managers is on.
In a recent web-based analysis, 15% of all corporal recruitment sought for project managers.
Employers were particularly interested in PMs who have experience in program management and infrastructure, change, and especially those who can manage a team of 15 or more. Managers are being sought to oversee a variety of projects, including network infrastructure, network security and architecture, Web development--especially involving JavaScript and .Net - and ERP deployments based on varied kinds of software. All positions pay well.
And while some employers prefer hiring project managers who have certifications from organizations such as the Project Management Institute, many other companies are more focused on finding people who have a track record of overseeing previous projects successfully, regardless of official certification.
