If you are going to vacation in Sao Paulo, it is paramount to have the best experience while you are visiting there. Although the city can be overwhelming as it is the third largest city in the world, visitors can enjoy a relaxing setting from their hotel room. Finding the perfect place to say is essential as it can make or break your vacation.

Sao Paulo possesses hotels and accommodations that are both affordable and expensive. Below is a list of various hotels and accommodations in Sao Paulo. Visitors to Sao Paulo will want to consider several of these hot hotel spots.

•	Gran Melia Mofarrej

Location: Alameda Santos 1437, Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo 01419-905, Brazil
Average Price: $163
Description: This glossy, cosmopolitan Tower Hotel is conveniently found in the center of the business district, just behind Avenida Paulista and overlooks Trianon Park. Although it is more expensive than almost any other hotel in Sao Paulo, the Emiliano Hotel is still a bargain if you compare it to what a hotel of the same caliber would cost in New York City. Located in a safe area of Sao Paulo, the Emiliano Hotel is found close to wonderful places to go window-shopping and enjoy excellent dining. Emiliano Hotel offers very comfortable rooms with excellent service: a welcome massage, a minibar full of your preferences, and carefully fluffed pillows to lay your head on at night. Although the studio rooms are cheaper, guests will want to experience the magnificent, spacious suites, which offer designer furniture, distinctive artwork, and feature the most modern home entertainment electronics. The beds are all king-size and the bathrooms are mini-spas that offer heated toilet seats and claw-foot tubs.

•	Sofitel Sao Paulo Hotel

Location: Rua Sena Madureira 1355 | Ibirapuera, Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo 04021-051, Brazil
Average Price: $188
Description: This French-style Hotel is found downtown close to the business center and Congonhas Airport, across from Ibirapuera Park. The décor is pleasing to the eye with its blond wood, light colors, and easy lighting. The staff is pleasant and fairly sufficient.
The city of Sao Paulo is known as the gourmet capital of the country of Brazil. Sao Paulo has much wealth, which attracts chefs from all over Brazil to this city. In addition, there are no mountains or beaches for Paulistas to spend their free time enjoying; the result is more time to eat out! Keep in mind when visiting Sao Paulo that the residents dress up when going out to eat. In addition, it is considered chic to go to dinner, at the earliest, around 9 or 10 pm.

•	Antiquarius

Location: Alameda Lorena 1884 | Jardim Paulista, Avenida Paulista
Prices: US$8.90 to US$20
Cuisine: Portuguese
Description: Antiquarius provides the ideal elegant locale to take pleasure in Portuguese cuisine delivered with flair and tradition. For those who desire dishes often found only in Portugal, you are in luck. This restaurant serves dishes such as cataplana de peixes e frutos do mar, a rich stew of fish and seafood, as well as acorda, shrimp, mussels and crab baked together in a clay dish, with an egg on top for garnish. The wines of Antiquarius tend toward higher-end reds.

•	Bolinha

Location: Av. Cidade Jardim 53 | Jardim Europa, Jardins
Prices: US$9.25 to US$16
Cuisine: Brazilian
Description: Bolinha features a significant quantity of chicken, beef and fish dishes, though most people are centered on the feijoada. The feijoadas are served with all the added extras such as baked bananas, sautéed green cabbage, rice, and sliced orange. Guests pay one determined price, US$13 on weekdays and US$16 on weekends.

•	Enomoto

Location: Rua Galvao Bueno 54 | Liberdade, Sao Paulo, Liberdade
Prices: US$3.95 to US$12
Cuisine: Japanese
Description: Enomoto is found only half a block away from the Praca da Liberdade. The restaurant delivers the typical Japanese favorites such as tempura, sushi, and sashimi. Guests will appreciate the affordable prices as well as the generous portions. And for those who really want to save, customers can share the teppanyaki dishes, as there is plenty of food to go around.

•	Famiglia Mancini

Location: Rua Avanhandava 81 | Centro, Centro
Prices: US$9.25 to US$22 for two people
Cuisine: Italian
Description: The Famiglia Mancini is one of the most popular restaurants in Sao Paulo. The cantina-style décor is evidenced through the traditional red-and-white checkered tablecloths and Chianti wine bottles that decorate the walls. The restaurant offers an antipasto buffet along with the massive pasta menu. Guests can choose from practically any kind of pasta imaginable, and there are over 30 distinct sauces to put with the pasta. As the portions are huge, guests can share the meal with another individual.

•	Templo da Bahia

Location: Alameda Campinas 720| Jardim Paulista, Avenida Paulista
Prices: US$7.25 to US$17 for two people
Cuisine: Brazilian
Description: In 1999, Amadeu Miranda opened his first Templo da Bahia. The demand was so great that today, five years later, he has opened four restaurants that continue to be overflowing with guests wanting to savor his original Bahian cuisine. The menu offers the usual Northeast dishes, with prominence given to fish and seafood. The most famous entrée is the Festival do Templo, a large dish for two people with crayfish, fried needlefish, codfish pastry, spicy crabmeat, Bahian falafel with dried shrimp and hot sauce, and grilled badejo fish. To get the true Bahian experience guests should choose a meal from the seafood options.

The city of Sao Paulo offers a host of activities for those visiting its quarters. Whether visitors want to check out some of the more historical sights, or just experience the culture itself, there is plenty to do. Below is a list of activities visitors can participate in when traveling to Sao Paulo.

•	Ibirapuera Park: This enormous, urban park in Sao Paulo is the equivalent to what Central Park is to New York City. Those who draw near the park from the Northwest will observe the notable Bandeiras monument, a memorial to Brazil’s pioneers. The park is very scenic as it winds through ponds, lawns, and gardens. Onlookers can observe various plant species and colorful birds. This is a great place to go running in the city, and a wonderful option to spend a relaxing afternoon.
•	Avenida Paulista and Bixiga: This region developed into the financial center as the coffee barons’ mansions that lined Avenida Paulista brought an influx of money. This is a great place to explore today, though the mansions are replaced with major banks. The area greatly supports the arts so that many exhibitions in the Paulista neighborhood are often free to the public.
•	Aquatic and Natural History Museum: The Aquatic and Natural History Museum is found in the Bosque dos Jequitibas region. The museum boasts wonderful displays of flora and fauna, and covers everything from marine life to mammals.
•	Pavilhao da Bienal: From October-November in every even-numbered year, the Pavilhao da Bienal hosts the Biennial art exposition. The pavilion is an Oscar Niemeyer-designed building, boasting wide-open spaces and floors joined together by circular slopes. The first event occurred in 1951 and attracted artists from 21 countries. Today the Pavilhao da Bienal brings in over 250 artists from more than 60 different countries. The pavilion is also home to a division of the Museu de Arte Contemporanea.
•	Bovespa: Here in the financial institution of Sao Paulo, visitors can ascend up into the mezzanine to observe the hectic busyness of the eventful Sao Paulo Stock Exchange. Computer terminals in the observation gallery show the most up-to-date stock quotes.
•	Casa das Rosas: This French-style mansion, known as the House of the Roses, appears out of place in this bustling city of skyscrapers. The renowned paulistano architect, Ramos de Azevedo, constructed Casa das Rosas in 1935. He built it in honor of one of his daughters. In 1986, the mansion was made an official municipal landmark. The building was later opened as a cultural center, and remains one of Paulista’s few enduring early-20th-century buildings.
•	Jardim Botanico: The Botanical Gardens feature nearly 3,000 plants belonging to over 340 native species. The greenhouse on location contains an orchid house, an assortment of aquatic plants, and Atlantic rain-forest species.
•	Praca Liberdade: This is a great place to go to experience the culture of Sao Paulo. On Sunday mornings and afternoons, Liberdade hosts an extensive Asian food and crafts fair where the Brazilian ethnic mix is visible to all. Common sights include Afro-Brazilians dressed in colorful kimonos eating grilled shrimp on a stick. There are also Japanese restaurants and shops in the vicinity that visitors may enjoy exploring.

Although the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil does not have much to offer in terms of beaches and mountains, there is still plenty to do in this city. There are several remarkable public buildings to amuse tourists and the city is bursting with cultural pursuits. Visitors can enjoy the many sights the city has to offer by day or by night. Below is a suggested itinerary of how to spend three days in Sao Paulo.

Day One: Museu de Arte, Mercado Municipal, Jardim Botanico, Sao Paulo

Begin day one by visiting the Museu de Arte, located in the Avenida Paulista. This huge concrete building resting on dainty pillars accommodates a valuable collection of Western art. Tour the museum, taking note of the highlighted works of the great European artists from the last 500 years. If you go on a Thursday, you can get into the museum for free. After touring the museum, enjoy lunch at the reasonably priced restaurant found on the premises.

In the afternoon, tour the Mercado Municipal, enjoying the market. This striking neo-Gothic style hall dates clear back to 1933 and is found north of Praca da Se. It is infamous for its enormous stained-glass windows that portray scenes from the coffee plantations. Here you can shop for local vegetables, fruit, cheese, and other produce.

Next, travel to Jardim Botanico. These Botanical Gardens feature nearly 3,000 plants belonging to over 340 native species. The greenhouse on location contains an orchid house, an assortment of aquatic plants, and Atlantic rain-forest species.

During the evening, dine at Famiglia Mancini for some delicious Italian cuisine. The Famiglia Mancini is one of the most popular restaurants in Sao Paulo. The restaurant provides an antipasto buffet along with the massive pasta menu. Guests can choose from practically any kind of pasta imaginable, and there are over 30 distinct sauces to put with the pasta. The portions are huge, so guests can share the meal with another individual. And you can expect to pay on average only $22US for two people.

Day Two: Rio de Janeiro

Day two will be spent driving to the infamous city of Rio de Janeiro. The drive down along the coast is extremely picturesque, and as you round the cliffs at Vidigal, your breath will be taken away by one of the most unforgettable cities in the world, Rio de Janeiro. Rio de Janeiro is the gem of Brazil, located along the Atlantic Ocean; it is often referred to as cidade maravilhosa, or the “Marvelous City”.
There are very few cities in the world as beautiful as this one. You can spend the day laying out on one of the immaculate, white beaches at Ipanema and Copacabana. Here you are sure to have the experience of a lifetime. The waters are deep blue at the Atlantic, and radiant green at Guanabara Bay. Visitors will appreciate the enormous statue of Christ the Redeemer, standing over the city on top of Corcovado (Hunchback). After you are done at the beach, travel to the top of Corcovado and enjoy a breathtaking, panoramic view of the city below. Or, you can travel to the top of Pao do Acucar (Sugar Loaf) by cable car and take in another tremendous view. Sugarloaf Mountain has become synonymous with Rio and Carnival.

In the late afternoon, tour some of the older structures of the city that date back to the Portuguese monarchy in the 19th century. Toward evening, take part in the Carioca enthusiasm for life. Rio de Janeiro is a tourist attraction; so prepare to meet fellow travelers on your journey. Enjoy the contrasting sights of the shantytowns with the sophistication and glamour of the Samba schools and their Carnival celebrations. In the evening, head back to Sao Paulo to spend the night.
Day Three: The Aquatic and Natural History Museum, Casa das Rosas, Ibirapuera Park, Sao Paulo
The last day in Sao Paulo will be spent taking in sights that were not observed during day one. Begin the day by visiting the Aquatic and Natural History Museum. The Aquatic and Natural History Museum is found in the Bosque dos Jequitibas region. The museum exhibits incredible displays of flora and fauna, and covers everything from marine life to mammals.

Next, travel to Casa das Rosas. This French-style mansion, known as the House of the Roses, appears out of place in this bustling city of skyscrapers. The renowned paulistano architect, Ramos de Azevedo, constructed Casa das Rosas in 1935. In 1986, the mansion was made an official municipal landmark. The building was later opened as a cultural center, and continues today as one of Paulista’s few enduring early-20th-century buildings.

In the afternoon, visit Ibirapuera Park. This enormous, urban park in Sao Paulo is the equivalent to what Central Park is to New York City. Those who draw near the park from the Northwest will observe the notable Bandeiras monument, a tribute to Brazil’s first settlers. The park is very scenic as it winds through ponds, lawns, and gardens. Onlookers can observe various plant species and colorful birds. This is the best place to enjoy a run in the city, and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon relaxing.
In the evening, dine at Cantaloup. This converted warehouse offers two separate dining rooms. The semi-formal room is adorned with oversize photos, while the second room has a more casual feel with its fountain and plants. Great dinner choices include the St. Peter’s beef tenderloin fillet with spinach and almonds or the filet mignon with risotto. This is the perfect way to spend your last evening in the exciting city of Sao Paulo.
