If you decide location is your main objective, then why not visit some great spots in North America. There are many places that avid sport-fishermen can travel for a fishing vacation within North America.
  • Bozeman, Montana: Whether you go to the Yellowstone River, Missouri River, Gallatin River, or Madison River, you can experience exceptional fly fishing. The Yellowstone River boasts four fish species: brown trout, native Yellowstone cutthroat, and native mountain whitefish. As the longest free flowing “wild” river in North America, it features one of the most scenic spots in Montana. The Missouri River is known as having the best fishing in Montana over the last several years. Here you can catch three to four pound rainbow trout. The Gallatin River is a classic, freestone trout stream, and the Madison River is also a wonderful trout habitat. Montana is the true fly fishing mecca of the west.
  • Florida’s Gulf Coast: Florida is often referred to as “A Fisherman’s Paradise”. Here you can experience world-class Tarpon fishing, flats fishing, and light tackle and fly fishing. This is a hot spot for the traveling fisherman as he can experience flats fishing for sea trout, redfish, snook, and even Shark.
  • Oahu, Hawaii: People typically think of fishing for marlin off the Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii, which is an exciting thing to do. However, Oahu is actually the place the sport-fisherman wants to go as it is home to some of Hawaii’s best fishing grounds. In Oahu you can find abundant schools of mahi mahi, wahoo, yellowfin tuna, and blue marlin.
  • Pennsylvania: Is there anything that can compete with this state that is covered in trout waters, replete with trout? Here fly fishing can be enjoyed by any level of anglers. Whether in the Northwestern, Southern, or Northcentral part of the state, trout can be found. Enjoy the medium sized wild brown trout in the Little Sandy Creek. Or, fish for brook and brown trout in Penns Creek. There is no end to fishing possibilities as you explore the various regions of this state.
