In general, hiring a fishing guide is not an inexpensive endeavor, but is not priced too differently than many other hobbies. Half-day trips, generally considered four to five hours, cost anywhere from $250 to $600, depending on the amenities and services (see section below) provided. Full-day trips, usually eight hours, cost from $600 to $1000. Special trips on some charters (e.g., to catch a special kind of fish or to travel to a certain exotic locale) can cost up to $3500 for just a few hours. Most guides have special pricing available for overnight trips, as well. Groups are generally eligible for discounts, and refunds are available for trips canceled due to inclement weather.
