It is believed by many that looking for the North Star whilst in the ocean can help boaters that are lost but is there any truth behind this factor?

There is some truth to it but relying on this alone is not a good idea and just sticking to the electronic equipment and maps will help a lot more than looking for a star.

It is really just a rumour that the North Star has helped people find their way and therefore, never use this method because it could end up making the situation worse, stick to traditional methods and use any gained skills.
