Blogging is the great publication equalizer. In the past you needed a book deal or a paycheck from a publisher in order for your written words to make their way into the outside world. Blogging has made it possible for anyone with something to say to have a venue to share his or her thoughts with the rest of us. While the Internet made obtaining information available to everyone, blogging has allowed the creation and mass distribution of information accessible to anyone with a computer and a thought or two to share. Its impact on the mainstream media is still unfolding, but it is certain that blogging has become, and will remain, a permanent part of today's technological society.
