Blog sites are a dime a dozen, so it seems. All you have to do is type "blog hosting sites" into google and poof: over 10,000 pages appear. So why choose eponym?
Eponym claims to have the easiest to use and most comprehensive feature set of all blog services available on the internet. To test this claim, I set up a test blog just to see if it really was as easy as they say it is. I currently keep a wordpress template blog on my own url, and I've worked with blogger before too, so I have experience with both setting up and maintaining blogs on various sites. Eponym.com makes the process of establishing a blog as painless as possible. From the time I clicked on the "Signup Now" button to the time I had posted my first entry, it took no more than five minutes. It was that easy.
Not only does eponym.com make blogging easy, it makes it free. There are other free blog hosting sites available, but setting these up can be sort of troublesome, especially at the beginning, and especially if you have no prior experience with html and css coding. Other blog sites make blogging easy, but you have to pay for it. With eponym, you have choices. The basic option, which has 10MB of storage and 100MB each month of bandwidth is absolutely free. This is the option I went with for the test blog and was very happy with the system.
If your blogging needs are greater than what their free service provides, or you wish to have the advertising bars removed from your blog, you can upgrade your site to one of these levels:
Bronze--For $4.95/month, you can add 200MB of diskspace and 1GB of monthly bandwidth.
Silver--For $9.95/month, you can add 1 GB of diskspace and 2 GB of monthly bandwidth.
Gold--Designed for small businesses and the more popular blogs, for $19.95/month, you can add 2 GB of diskspace and 10 GB of monthly bandwidth.
Platinum--For large businesses and the best blogs out there, for $29.95/month you can add 3 GB of diskspace and 20 GB of monthly bandwidth.
For podcasters and vodcasters--For $39.95/month, you can add 5 GB of diskspace and 40 GB of monthly bandwidth.
