Breakfast- Indigo- Start your day with bacon and eggs or some spinach quiche at this happening restaurant. The brightly colored walls and crisp white furniture create a fun and pleasant environment.

After Breakfast- Begin your first day by fully immersing yourself in Belgian culture at the Grote Markt/Grand Place. The architecture alone is reason enough to go, with its tall, gabled Renaissance buildings. There are plenty of items to buy and see; be sure you take in the flower market. On Sundays, they host a bird market. The glow of the floodlights in the evenings just make the area that much more beautiful. During the spring and summer months, be sure to catch the light show

Lunch- Mirante- This delicious pizzeria is not your ordinary pizza joint. They truly have a respect for the fine art of pie making. Mirante’s has a warm atmosphere, great pizzas, and friendly prices.

After Lunch- Museum voor Moderne Kunst- Spend the rest of the afternoon perusing the eight underground floors of this modern art museum. It contains works by Belgian modernists, including: Marcel Broodthaers, Rik Wouters, and Rene Magritte. The Museum is located on Place Royale and was constructed around a light shaft that allows light to filter down. The museum also houses art by Andy Warhol and Marc Chagall. There is a cafeteria and a gift shop, and on Wednesday afternoons, admission is free.

Dinner- Au Stekerlapatte- The steak and spare ribs at this popular restaurant come highly recommended. The beer list is impressive and you can order wine by the centimeter. If you are in town for the film festival, then this is the place to see the stars.

After Dinner- Relax and unwind at one of the favorite after-work drinking spots, The Wild Geese. This lively pub is filled with wooden tables and benches and features live Jazz and Irish music on Wednesday night. Fridays and Saturdays are happening nights to hang out at The Wild Geese.
