Roman Catholicism is the major religion in Belgium; 60 to 75 percent of the population is Catholic. However, a poll taken in 2004 showed that only nine to twelve percent of Belgian population regularly attends church. The Belgian law recognizes the following other religions practiced in Belgium: Islam, Protestantism, and Judaism.
