Most featherbeds do not require much of your time. The majority of the maintenance is preventive and is quick and easy!

·        Ideally, it would be best if you could put a protective cover on your featherbed. You can either buy this separately or some featherbeds even come with a cover when you purchase them. This can help ensure an extended life for your cushion.
·        You should also try to shake out your featherbed daily when making your bed to restore its loft after a night’s rest.
·        If shaking it out yourself does not seem to be doing the trick, you might put in your dryer at home on tumble dry to help restore its fluffiness! Make sure to check the label on your featherbed because some of them are “Dry Clean Only”!
·        If you actually need to wash your featherbed and your home washer can accommodate its size and it is does not have to be dry cleaned, then try using only a small amount of dish detergent instead of laundry soap because the laundry soap can leave a residue on the down that hinders its ability to regain its loft.
