» Obtaining a whirlpool
Once you’ve decided that you want a whirlpool, there are several steps to take in order to find and obtain the right one for you.
- First of all, consider whether you would prefer to purchase a whirlpool tub and have it installed or have your current bathtub jetted up. There are many companies who specialize in adding whirlpool kits to baths; however, they may still need to remove and then reinstall your tub.
- Make sure that it will fit into your house and in your bathroom. These units require a lot of room; so check not only the room’s size but also the doorway measurements.
- Consider the many “extras.” Not only do color and design vary, but you can also choose the style of jets you prefer, whether or not you’d like an entertainment system, the contour of your seats and armrests, and many other details.
- Climb into the whirlpool. While you may feel a bit embarrassed in the store, it is crucial that you make sure that the size is right for you and that you don’t have to be an acrobat to climb in. Sit down, and verify that all of the features are as you prefer. If your particular whirlpool happens to be filled with water, try out a comparable model.
- Discuss the purchase with your plumber. Your water source, if it is a water well, a cistern, or a septic tank, may not be able to handle the whirlpool, so investigate this before you complete the purchase.
- Consider the price. Once you’ve finalized all of your options, evaluate whether or not the price is what you were expecting and worth what you will be gaining. If not, consider slimming down the specialties.
