Within the various styles of showerheads there are a number of available options, some of which are more standard than others. The list below references a few of the many options available:

·        Adjustable arm: If you choose a fixed, adjustable-spray showerhead, and people of different heights will use your shower, you’ll probably want to choose a showerhead with an adjustable arm. The adjustable arm allows users to change the height of the shower in order to accommodate people of different sizes.

·        Cut-off valve: Showerheads equipped with a cut-off valve allow users to kill water flow while they’re shampooing, which in turn reduces the amount of water used each shower.

·        Push-button/switch-operated settings: It’s nice to have several water flow settings at your disposal, but those settings don’t do you much good if it’s difficult to adjust them during a shower. Many new models offer the ability to change shower settings through buttons or switches.

·         Low-flow: U.S. government regulations mandate that no showerhead have a water flow of more than 2.5 gallons per minute, with a standardized pressure of 80psi. Low-flow showerheads are designed to use less water than the government maximum, which can produce energy savings for low-flow users.

·        Removable face: Over time, especially in areas with hard water, spray nozzles may become clogged. Showerheads with removable faces allow owners to clean their showerheads with greater ease.
