It is so easy for accidents to happen on the changing table. This is one place that many parents forget about when it comes to safety, as you assume you'll be right there, changing your child's diaper. However, accidents can still occur, so here are some tips to keep the changing table safe:

• Use a safety belt on the changing table.
• Keep baby powder and other supplies out of baby's reach when he or she is being changed. (One way to help in this area is to give the child a toy to occupy him or her while he or she is being changed.)
• Never leave a child unattended on a changing table.
• If you don't have carpet, put a non-skid rug beneath the crib and changing table.
