Breastfeeding is the most nutritious way to feed a baby and the benefits associated with it are endless and not only to the baby, but nursing mothers can also benefit from it as well. Listed below are some of the benefits of breastfeeding:

• Protection: Not only is breast milk the best milk for a baby it can also protect them from illnesses and other conditions such as type 1 diabetes, leukemia, SIDS, obesity, ear infections, respiratory infections, and allergies.
• Boost Intelligence: Studies have shown that breast fed babies generally have higher IQ's then bottle fed babies. The fatty acids found in breast milk have been proven to boost brain activity.
• Weight Loss: Breast feeding helps new mothers loose weight they gained while pregnant by burning calories by producing the breast milk.
• Could Reduce Mom's Risk for Cancer: Studies have been showing signs that breast feeding even for a short time can help protect women from developing breast cancer as well as ovarian cancer.
• Protect from Osteoporosis: There has been a lot of debate on this subject but at least two studies have proven that breastfeeding can improve a woman's bone density which helps to protect against fractures later in life.
• Saving Money: When a woman breastfeeds there is no need for expensive formula that can cost over $20 a can. Bottles are usually used at some point to supplement a growing baby with breast milk that has been pumped at an earlier time.
• Bonding Time: The time spent breast feeding is a wonderful bonding time for the mother and child.
• Not Much Cleanup: Aside from the occasional supplemented bottle of breast milk, breast feeding alleviates any regular bottle washing or bottle making.
