Years ago, babies slept in some sort of bed, but that was about all the gear available! Today, there is an amazing amount of items available to help babies be safe, happy and entertained. Most parents register at discount stores or baby specialty stores for items like strollers, playpens, car seats, infant swing sets, high chairs, and portable booster seats. Sometimes you need more than one of an item: many parents like to have a good-sturdy stroller (many of them convert from carrying infants all the way through the toddler years), a cheap "umbrella" stroller for quick trips or when you don't have room to carry a lot of baby gear, and finally, for those who like to walk or run, a good jogging stroller. More than one car seat can be extremely helpful thing: most families have two cars and it is much better to have a properly installed car seat in both cars (if the child is likely to be transported in both vehicles). Why? Because properly installing a car seat, especially for small babies, takes careful attention to details. Experts say that a large percentage of car seats are improperly installed. A parent is more likely to not do a good job of installing the car seat in the car if he or she has to transfer one car seat back and forth between two vehicles.
