Austria is a country filled with culture and life, as well as great opportunities for those who want to spend about a week vacationing there. With breathtaking views of nature always surrounding you and rich traditions constantly being honored, filling a week’s itinerary will certainly not be difficult!
Three options for those with active lifestyles are skiing (an Austrian favorite!), hiking, and running the Vienna City Marathon. Or, if you’re visiting around the winter holidays, you can visit many of Austria’s Christmas Markets - Christkindlmärkte. Attending traditional Austrian festivals is also an option; they happen at many different times of the year and offer a great feel for the personality of the country. Whatever you do, whether you choose to spend your time shopping in the Markets or tackling the 42 km run, you are sure to cherish your holiday in Austria.
