As you’ve probably already notices, Australia's wildlife easily sets it apart from the rest of the planet. Animals such as the kangaroo and the platypus exist nowhere else on earth, and one of the most memorable experiences you can have is to cuddle a koala. There are several wildlife parks where koalas can be handled, fed and photographed.
1) Queensland – The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the oldest and biggest koala sanctuary in Australia. The main attraction a large bushland park south of Brisbane is its 130 koalas which can be held and hand-fed.
2) Sydney – At Koala Park Sanctuary, a sprawling bush and rainforest park on the outskirts of Sydney, visitors can cuddle and hand-feed koalas and get a close-up view of some of the majestic wildlife species unique to Australia.
3) Gold Coast - Located at the centre of Queensland's Gold Coast, the giant Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has koalas to cuddle and a vast collection of Australian native reptiles and birds, all linked by miniature train.
4) Western Australia – At Cohunu Koala Park, a natural bushland park just a 30 minute drive from Perth, visitors can have their photo taken holding one of 25 resident koalas and hand-feed many of the free-ranging animals.
