» Of what use is crochet?
Crochet is a very versatile craft, able to be used for anything from scarves to teddy bears to—if you can find the right type of hook—decorative bird cages.
Anything made of fabric—yes, bathing suits and dolls, too—can be made by crochet. Now, you may not want to crochet some items, but it is possible to do if you want or like to. Even if it is a doll in her bathing suit, or a wire bird in a cage.
Besides the commonly known yarn fabric and thread lace, crochet can also be used with rope, ribbon, and fine wire. (Note: the wire requires a soft plastic hook—do not attempt to crochet wire with a hook that is not soft plastic.)
