Candles come in a variety of types, shapes and sizes. There are four basic types of candles; rolled, dipped, molded or pillar, and votive. The most common types of candles to make include pillar and votive candles. Pillar candles are made by pouring molten wax into a mold whereas votives and container candles are made by pouring wax with a lower melting point into fireproof jars or pots. A popular type of candle for children to make is a candle made of wax pellets or beads. These candles are made very easily and are an appropriate craft for younger children.
