In order to keep your hand-made candles looking their best follow these candle burning tips.

• Keep the wick trimmed. If the wick is longer than ¼ of an inch it will burn faster and smoke. By keeping it trimmed, the candle will burn longer and soot won’t accumulate.
• Burn candles long enough. Pillar candles should burn for at least one hour for every inch of diameter. By doing this, the candles will burn down evenly rather than burning a tunnel through the candle.
• Be safe. Keep all lit candles out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a lit candle unattended. Always burn candles in a well-ventilated area.

Candles are a wonderful way to add ambiance to any room and making your own candles can be a fun hobby. With a little bit of equipment, a few supplies, and some creativity, candle making can be enjoyed by the whole family.
