A spreading market for arts and crafts has prompted the shopping channel "Ideal Shopping Direct" to make its first acquisition:

The British TV group, which operates channels on Sky, Freeview and cable television, has agreed to buy Superstore TV - a craft sourcing and wholesale biz, for £1.5m. (About $3.3 million US)

Superstore sources items for hobbies including card making, stamping, crafting and scrap-booking from China. Although it was loss-making in 2005, it is expected to make a profit this year.

Please, please let this thing give QVC a run for its money.
