The mathematics of quilting?

Chatter about CD/ROMs and computer memory sticks didn't fill the air at quilting bees when Aberdeen was born 125 years ago.

But that's exactly what today's quilters talked about Monday as they explained how they fashioned the city's official Quasquicentennial Quilt, which was unveiled Monday evening at Dacotah Prairie Museum in Aberdeen.

The quilt's lettering was embroidered by a computerized machine, said quilter Myra Hodgson of Aberdeen; hence, her mention of CD/ROMs and memory sticks.

Lettering aside, the quilt itself is far from traditional.

That's pretty crazy. I wonder if cyborgs in the future will have an intricate quilting habit.
