Misting is only beneficial for short periods of time, but for Bonsai trees the humidity that misting provides is essential. The best way to keep your tree in a 24 hour humidity envelope is to place it on a humidity tray and add water to the tray. Just remember to keep water in the tray at all times. To prevent roots from sitting in water, you may want to separate the tray from the pot by adding pebbles to the bottom of the tray.
