Bonsai are obviously susceptible to insect attacks and disease. The first in preventing such attacks is to keep your Bonsai healthy. Especially since insects and bacteria generally attack weak trees not strong trees. You should also make sure the soil is kept clean of debris and that your tree is getting plenty of light, fresh air and ventilation. Insecticidal soap sprays are not harmful to us, but they are a great way to keep Bonsais bug-free. Keep in mind; however, it may take more than one application to start out and than a weekly application to maintain progress.
