Most accommodation throughout Buenos Aires is located for easy access to many mainstream shops and general facilities and due to the high standard of living, you can normally guarantee whatever you get for the price; will be clean and most importantly comfortable.
For certain types of accommodation such as motel rooms or apartments, the prices may vary according to season and the only downside with staying somewhere like an apartment, you won’t be charged on a daily basis, it is common that a three night stay minimum is required to make a booking.
• Full-service hotels: Prices range from around $100 - $600 per person, per night but this purely depends on the type of room booked and sometimes facilities required although everything on the complex is usually included.
• Bed and Breakfast: Some bed and breakfasts may allow to have a weekly stay and charge this way but most are on a nightly basis and with prices starting as low as $15 up to about $40 per person, per night, you can get good value for money but it is important to remember, the price varies on the type of room you require whether it will be a single or double and if you will require a twin room for a larger family or even a private bathroom/en-suite.
• Apartments: Throughout Buenos Aires there is a larger number of apartments over any other type of accommodation and the benefit of these, it is private and can sleep up to 8 people – this depends on the size. Prices can range from about $400 - $820 per week but for any cost like this, the weekly charge could be split between the party to get a really special apartment with most major facilities.
• Hostels: There are several dedicated hostels throughout the area and whilst these are not suitable for families, if you are backpacking or just looking for a simple place to stay then you can end up saving a lot of money and possibly meet new people as well. Prices average out at about $6 and can rise to $15.
It is important to remember that when you stay in certain types of accommodation, whereas it may not always be possible throughout the Buenos Aires area, some places may reduce the cost of a stay due to it being a low season. There is never any harm to ask because even though some companies may have such a policy, they may not freely advertise it.
