British periodical "The Times" has recently reported that the newest alternative medicine fad to be outed as largely unscientific is the practice of chiropractics and osteopathy.
The report is based upon a report in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, which just released a study from the University of Exeter which reviewed the evidence of spinal manipulation and found it to be lacking.
There is, according to the report, little evidence that spinal manipulation techniques are effective in treating any medical conditions. Chiropractors are quick to point out that other reports have not concluded the same.
Ultimately this issue, as with many in alternative medicine, is going to come down to those individual cases who have back and spinal ailments and then sought out alternative treatment - whether bad or good. Read more about the report here.
