  • Business Cards Business cards are one of the most abundant, cost effective print advertising strategies. Business cards are inexpensive, available in a wide variety of designs and colors, and will fit in a shirt pocket or wallet.

  • Banners
Banners are often a one time expense in print advertising, but if your business offers something special, and you have substantial traffic passing by your business every day, then a banner might be the way to get the word out.

  • Phone Book Listings or Ads
Make sure your business is listed in both the white and yellow pages. This form of print advertising is expensive, but if your customers can’t find you, they can’t buy your product.

  • Signs
Signage is of utmost importance, but many people don’t think of this as another form of print advertising. Make sure your sign is visible, easily read, and distinctive enough to be remembered.

  • Pens
It’s a well known fact that pens get misplaced into customer pockets and purses. Imprinted pens come in a variety of styles and costs so it’s easy to choose the one that’s right for your business. Make these pens available to your customers and when they inadvertently take the pen with them, they are also taking an advertisement for your business with them, too.

  • Letterhead and Stationery
Every business needs stationery of some sort, even if it’s just notepads by the phone. However, if every notepad by every phone has your business information printed at the top, it becomes a form of print advertising.

  • Web Site
Don’t forget that your web site is also print advertising. More and more consumers are doing their pre-purchase research online before they head out to the stores. Be there waiting for them.

If your business has access to the internet, you have access to a web site. Most ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) offer a small amount of web space for every email account. Check with your ISP for information about what is available to you.

On each of these types of print advertising one rule is the same. Proofread every item before the final printing. Proofread it more than once. If something is misspelled or the phone number or address is wrong, the value of the advertising is zero. It takes seconds to proof and proof again, but the time investment is well worth it.
