I guess the term "vacation" has degenerated to the point where its implied connotation (Not working) has little or no relevance at all.
At least, it won't if this "Hurricane Safari" business takes off.
A small but varied group of companies in Texas, Oklahoma and Florida have started offering "hurricane tours" in which those patrons willing to travel to hurricane-prone areas in a van and then wait out the storm in some kind of parking structure. I've heard of tornado-chasers, but sheesh.
After the hurricane passes, the tour then wanders around the area to survey the damage.
I guess the spectacle of a hurricane would be pretty neat to behold, but I'm not sure I'd like to pay someone to cart me to a beach somewhere that in all likelihood will produce 180 mph winds to blow me to kingdom come.
