There are four major decisions that you need to make when selecting your trip. The first is size of vessel. Smaller ships, which only have about 50 people on them, tend to focus heavier on the adventure travel. Larger ships though have more of a luxury cruise ship feel to them. They also tend to be a little more expensive, and they do not have as many stops.

The second is the itinerary. The different ships have different stops and this is something you should research if you are interested in stopping at a specific location. If you want to go to the Falklands, cross the circle, or visit South Georgia then you should talk to the cruise companies about which trip you should take.

The third option to decide on is cost. There are many different things that are taken into account for the cost of the cruise. You need to consider room size, amenities, length of trip, and activities. All of these can influence your cost, but if you speak to a consultant than you should be able to find one that works with your budget.

The final consideration involves any special interests that you have. If you are an aspiring photographer, then you may want to ask when the best time would be to go. If you are really interested in ice climbing, there is probably a trip for you as well. The different itineraries focus on different things. Just check into it a little bit.
