Since most people think of camping around the Rocky Mountains, next to the Ozark Lakes, or in the hills of West Virginia, we are going to move away from those. The first location is in the Artic temperatures that surround the Alaska, Canadian, and even the Antarctica regions. While it may be extremely nice to vacation in Alaska during the summer, some adventure campers have gotten their thrills by visiting it during the frozen winter. Many cruise ships that sail around the island of Antarctica have offered night stays on the ice of the South Pole Island. These extreme temperatures make this kind of camping, truly adventure camping.
How about camping out in the middle of the rainforest? That are what a lot of companies are now looking at offering campers in the areas of Mexico, Central America, and South America. While hiking through the area - with or without a guide - you simply come to a nice looking area that is surrounded by tropical vegetation and lay your campsite down for the evening. You will fall asleep to the sounds of nature all around you - maybe sometimes a little too close for me. These are just a couple of the wild opportunities of locations for adventure camping. You could also think of the beaches of Spain, the mountains of Switzerland, the grasslands of the Serengeti, or the valleys of the Far East. Location is definitely an integral portion of adventure camping.
