There are specific kinds of Venture Capitalists though. There are Venture Capital firms that focus solely upon hiring and training individuals in the use and skills of Venture Capital.
The positions at these firms vary widely, such as general partners, who receive income on any and all Venture Capital Investments, venture partners or entrepreneur-in-residence (EIR). Venture partners are the ones most commonly associated with the deal-making process and they usually only receive income on the specific deals that they have been a part of in securing. In residence entrepreneurs are typically assigned to a specific area because they have a considerable talent or experience/expertise in the specific area.
