There are a few times that absolutely merit and require a business audit. These times center on three main commonplace events within the business marketplace: the acquisition of another business, when a business is struggling and when a business is experiencing a great deal of success.

When an individual or group goes through the process of acquiring a business an audit must be performed so that they will know exactly what they are acquiring and if they should acquire the business or not. This can also assist them in how to best integrate or operate the business into their overall plan or business structure.

Obviously when a business struggles a detailed assessment of why must be utilized. This auditing time is most often a retroactive response that should have been used proactively before, i.e. that the management did not keep an eye on the business or the market the business operates therein.

Lastly, if a business is experiencing a great deal of success then the owner or management should know why so that they can continue to experience success and maintain a high level of function and growth.
